Tyler Buchner is a 6'2" 200lb Dual-Threat Quarterback from The Bishops School in La Jolla, CA. Buchner a 4.0 student excels both on the field and in the classroom. A natural leader, Buchner has been a 3-year starter for the Knights. The first game of his sophomore year Tyler tore his ACL, the injury cost him the season. After a series of off-season workouts, Buchner returned his junior year as the starter. Tyler led the Knights to a Division 2 Championship appearance, where he ran for 353 yards on 18 carries and threw for 296 yards on 22 completions in a loss to El Camino.
Buchner won the 2019 Silver Pigskin Trophy, awarded to the BEST High School player in San Diego. He was the first junior to win the prestigious award since USC Superstar Reggie Bush.
In middle school Buchner was a nation lacrosse recruit, earning scholarship offers from Ivy League and Big 10 schools. His first Power 5 collegiate scholarship offer was a lacrosse scholarship from the University of Michigan.
Buchner finished his junior campaign 11th in the nation in passing yards (4,474), 15th in the nation in Passing Yards per game(344.2), 18th in the nation in Passing Touchdowns (53).
